Loading Bays in Galp

Montrel implements its SIMAC system in GALP

MONTREL has implemented in 2013 for Fuel Tanks Trucks Terminals at Gijon and Valencia its SIMAC System for Automation and Management of Loading Bays

While in Gijon it is an update of the previous version of SIMAC, at the terminal of Valencia we have installed our version of Control and Management System replacing another company’s system.


It has been deployed in several phases, in a modular and progressive way, attending to our customer needs and continuity of services in both facilities.

In this new system, the ultimate goal is implementing a set of functional and operational improvements that allows an Advanced Management and Control of Loading Operations.


One of the goals in System configuration, reached by definition, is a High Availability System, using complex methods of replication both Hardware and Software, such as Data Base Mirroring and RAID (0, 1) Systems. Furthermore, it resolved optimizing operational and management Loading Terminal including the new form of Declaration of Hydrocarbons Excise EMCS-Internal Circulation, based on Web Services technology.

The system has the following features:
  • Identification of the driver by cards.
  • Control over the maximum amount of charge in each compartment of each tank, as required by the ADR (European Transport Dangerous Goods Regulations).
  • Control via TCP / IP communication of microcomputers load operation.
  • Determination of the quantities of additive to be injected in the different tanks of the tanker truck.
  • Reporting concerning the operation of Loading Bay.
  • Tax additives treatment.
  • Automatic start and stop pumps of main products and additives.
  • Blending Online.
  • Control of security interlocks in the loading.
  • Adding signals from the various Motor Control Centers in the Terminal, via Profibus in optical fiber.
  • Loading control of products supplied in volume and mass.
  • Records of analog signals trends.
  • Information traceability generated in the Loading Process.
