Within the planned timetable, GIJON authorities, made
available to ENAGAS, the grounds for the reception, storage and
liquefied natural gas (LNG) regasification terminal at El MUSEL, in a
ceremony attended by Principality of Asturias presidents, by GIJON Port
authorities and ENAGAS.
The Regasification Plant of EL MUSEL, is a key
infrastructure for the development of the Principality Energy Strategy
and a fundamental pillar of the National Energy Planning.
It will be built on an Port esplanade of 18 hectares,
expandable to 23; with a quay which allow to operate two ships
simultaneously, two storage tanks of 300,000 m3 and a emission capacity
of 800,000 m3, including a modern automated system for tank truck
loading to properly transport LNG.
MONTREL industrial group is involved in this project
doing design, computer engineering, instrumentation and mechanics for
the tank truck loading terminal with automatic weight control. This work
includes basic and detailed loading system, piping Skid, as well as an
overall automation of the loading system with process control and
production of administrative documentation.
MONTREL is currently the leading force of control
systems and petroleum products loading terminals management process in
the Spanish market and is the only integrator at a national level of
systems for tank truck cryogenic loading facilities in LNG storage and
regasification plants, having previously implemented the systems of the
Loading Plants of CARTAGENA, HUELVA, BARCELONA, BILBAO, SAGUNTO and
MUGARDOS(A Coruña).
The regasification plant of GIJON, shall work
through a network with these six loading plants already cited which are
in operation in Spain and shall give security to the power generation
system, in which combined cycles ensure continuity of supply when there
aren’t optimum operating conditions of renewable energy sources.
